In maths we have been developing our understanding of place value and using this knowledge in our addition and subtraction work.  We have been challenging ourselves to complete more difficult questions.  We also used the connectrio to develop our ability to create symmetrical patterns.

In literacy we have been working on writing our own story where we travel back in time to Ancient Egypt.  We had the opportunity create dioramas and act out the story first before writing it.  We have started read a number of books with The Hodgeheg being a favourite so far this year.

Our topic is Ancient Egypt.  We have been learning about life in Ancient Egypt, the different jobs people did, the process of mummifications and attempting to write our names in hieroglyphics.

We have also loved taking part in Fight to Thrive and swimming lessons every week.  A super start to our year in P5.
