P5/6 Mr Elliott

We have had a busy and exciting time learning across the curriculum! In Maths, we have been exploring place value and discovering how numbers can be represented and valued in different ways. We particularly enjoyed using hands-on materials, including natural resources from the forest and everyday food items such as spaghetti and breakfast cereal, to bring our learning to life.

In Literacy, we have been developing our sentence writing by learning how to use nouns and adjectives to make our sentences more detailed and interesting.

In World Around Us, we have travelled back in time to investigate how castles have changed over the years. We have explored the different roles and responsibilities of people who lived and worked in castles, as well as considering which castle designs offered the best protection during a siege.

Alongside all of our classroom learning, we have also enjoyed taking part in swimming and our fantastic Fight to Thrive workshop. It has been a fun-filled time of learning, exploring and trying new things!
