  • Ditch the Dark Day 2026

    Published 19/01/26

Today, our school was bursting with colour as everyone wore bright clothing to remind us how important it is to be safe and be seen when travelling to and from school on dark winter mornings.

We had an assembly led by Beverley from Sustrans Active Travel, where we learnt how to stay safe when walking or cycling to school 🚶‍♀️🚲

Some classes also took part in workshops, both inside and outside, learning all about reflective clothing and road safety.

Well done everyone for shining bright and staying safe!

  • Ditch the Dark Day

    Published 14/01/26

On Friday 16th January, we will be celebrating Ditch the Dark Day! Children are invited to come to school wearing brightly coloured clothes, including coats, shoes, accessories, wigs, and high-visibility or reflective items, to help raise awareness of safe travel to school, especially during the dark winter mornings and afternoons. We are encouraging everyone to walk, cycle or scoot to school where possible, making sure they can be clearly seen by car drivers by wearing bright and reflective clothing. To support this important message, we will be holding a special assembly, and classes will be working on activities to promote safe and visible travel to school during the darker months.
